Craps Betting System and Strategy

For new players the craps game may seem to be a little bit difficult since there are so many fields on the dice table but actually they are repeated and every dice player must just get to know several bets to become a good player. So, keep in mind that the game of craps is the round game. The first dice roll is the Come out roll and the whole number of the rounds in the game depends on the results of the initial roll. In case a 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12 is thrown in the first dice shot the round is finished. But in case one of the other numbers is rolled on the dice this is called the Point and according to the craps betting system the dice must be rolled again and again till the same point or a 7 occurs.

Pass Line Bets:

The Pass Line bets are to be made on the Come out roll and when a 7 or 11 appears this bet happens to win, if number 2, 3, or 12 comes up on the dice the bet is loser. When the point was thrown and it occurs again before 7 – the bet wins. The payout is 1 to 1.

Buying the Odds:

If the point is thrown each player can place the Odds bet. This bet is one more bet that the point is thrown again before 7. The probability that the point number appears again is lower than 50%, hence if it happens the craps player can win more than he risks. According to the craps betting system the payoff on the point of a 4 or 10 is 2/1, on a 5 or 9 the payoff is 3/2 and on number 6 or 8 it is 6/5.

Don’t Pass Bets:

Unlike the Pass Line bets Don't Pass bet wins in case number 2 or 3 comes out on the Come out roll, when a 7 or 11 appears the bet Number 12 on the dice is called the push. When the point is rolled the dice must be rolled over and over till the same point number or a 7 is thrown. As the craps betting system states, when number 7 occurs on the dice before the point the player wins. In fact this type of bet is the wager against the bank and if the player which makes this bet is often called a "wrong" bettor.

Laying the Odds:

According to the craps betting system these Odds bets are the opposite to buying odds, this means that the dice players wager that number 7 is rolled on the dice before the point number. If laying odds bet is winning the payout is 1 to 2 on a 4 or 10, 2 to 1 on number 5 or 9, and 5 to 6 on number 6 or 8 coming up.

Come Line Bets:

These bets correspond to the Pass Line bets but they are performed at any time. Again, the gambler can wager on the odds after the point is rolled.

Don’t Come Bets:

Unlike the Come Line bets these bets win in case a 2 or 3 comes up and losing if a 7 or 11 comes up on the dice. In case number 12 comes up on the dice it is a tie. According to the craps betting system one of the rest numbers falling out means the Come Point and the dice must be rolled again. Then if number 7 falls out first the gambler happens to win yet if the same point number is rolled before 7 he loses.

Place Number Bets:

Place Number bets are to be made on number 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 and when these numbers come out on the dice before a 7 the craps player is winner. Place Number bets resemble the odds and they may be canceled at any moment the gambler wishes. The payout is 9/5 on number 4 or 10, 7/5 on a 5 or 9, and 7/6 on a 6 or 8 on the dice. If this bet wins the craps player gets the winnings plus the original bet.

Buy Bets:

As the craps betting system states Buy bets correlate with the previous bets, however, the main difference is the payoff of bet. If you choose this type of bet the casino imposes 4% commission and if the bet is winning you are paid 2-to-1 on a 4 and 10 on the dice, 3-to-2 on a 5 and 9, 6-to-5 on a 6 and 8 coming out.

Lay Bets:

As the Place bet it can be made on a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 but it is winning if number 7 occurs earlier than one of these numbers you placed bet on. Again the player is charged 4% commission and if the this bet wins the fair odds are paid out. Fair odds are 1/2 on number 4 or 10, 2/3 on a 5 and 9, and 5/6 on a 4 or 8.

Hardways :

These bets may be placed on hard 4, 6, 8 or 10. Thus the craps player wagers that the pair of fives, fours, threes or twos will come out earlier than a 7 or another combination that totals 4, 6, 8 and 10. According to the craps betting system the payoff is 7/1 on a hard 4 and 10, 9/1 on a hard 6 and 8 coming up.

Big 6:

The bet that number 6 will come up before a 7. The payout on this bet is even money or 1/1.

Big 8:

The bet that a 8 will come up earlier than 7. According to the craps betting system the payout on this bet is even money or 1/1.

The Proposition Bets:

Proposition bets are one-roll bets made on specific number and the payoffs on these bets varies from 30-to-1 to even money or 1/1.
